Dare to Deck the Halls Features

This is it! The end of Dare to DIY 2013! Wipe those tears, it’ll be back next year. Until then, here are some of my picks from this week’s theme, Dare to Deck the Halls.

I loved this DIY Gold Starburst Tree Topper from Gabbi at Retro Ranch Reno. Such a unique, modern twist on the traditional star tree toppers.

And this Merry Christmas banner from Brynne at The Gathered Home has such a sweet, old-fashioned typography look. Love it!

Thanks to all who joined in and made Dare to DIY special, and be sure to visit NewlyWoodwards, Décor and the Dog, and Primitive and Proper to see their favorites from this week’s link party.

And another big thank you to everyone for your support and nice comments on yesterday’s post! It really feels awesome to be a part of such a supportive, helpful internet community. That sounds cheesy as heck. But it’s true. I love that I can be real with you guys and not feel like I have to shine things up before I share my life with you, and you’ll be just as sweet as can be about it. Corny sentence alert: thank you for letting me share my real, unglamorous life with you. I appreciate it. So much. Okay, corniness over.

I’m hoping to have a certain crochet project finished, photographed, and with the pattern written up to share with you next week . . . here’s a sneak peek at what I’m working on. Fingers crossed I get the step-by-step photographed over the weekend, because it would really make an AWESOME quick, last-minute Christmas project. Who isn’t in the market for that?

Shades of pink/purple crochet

Have a good weekend!

  3. Can't wait to see this new crochet project! I swear crocheting is the one hobby I have yet to pick up. I can knit up a storm, but go to just one hook instead on 2 needles and I am lost.
