There comes a day in every blogger’s life when she must face the truth in the cold light of day: I don’t have anything to say today. And yet I wanted to post something. Here we are.
And so I’m turning to the time-honored tradition of flaking out and forcing you to give me a post topic for next week by asking me questions. You think of something you want to know, and I will answer it in a post next week.
Do you have a crochet question? Blogging question? Parenting question (hahahaHAhahaha)? Personal question? Are you burning to know what my favorite cookie recipe is? Or my celebrity crushes (I could name so, so many)?
Whatever you might be wondering, go on, leave it in the comments, and I’ll answer them next week. Keep it appropriate, people.
(Picture 100% unrelated to this post. But it is also so 100% essence of Forrest, I had to put it somewhere. He’s a handsome boy.)
Hi! Since I love finding a new good book to read, what are you currently reading? Or better yet, what book have you read lately that you would put on the top of your recommendation list?
ReplyDeleteI have a question about the bauble blanket...do you think its too girlly with the ruffle border for a boy? If so...what other type of border would you suggest for the blanket?
ReplyDeleteSince becoming a mom I've started wondering--what do other mom's do with their day? How much of your day is spent making sure Forrest is happy and how much do you spend on crafting, cleaning, etc? I'm finding that this balance is different for everyone so I'm curious what your typical day looks like!
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in learning more about crochet pattern making. Do you make your own patterns or do you use others and make them your own? Where do you get inspiration for all your different crocheting creations? I feel as though I've learned quite a bit about crocheting and become fairly adept, but the idea of making my own pattern is super intimidating.
ReplyDeleteMy neighbors are having their first baby. I'd love to make them a blanket. But i want it nice and soft. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteForrest is a very handsome boy. Do you want more kids? If so how many? Anytime soon? (You don't have to answer, I'm just curious) :)
ReplyDeleteHow very brave of you...I want to know what does being a mormon mean? I mean I grew up Dutch reformed christian in NJ..I really want to know details. Same Bible? Very curious I see it on a lot of blogs. I am a mormon.
ReplyDeleteDo you exercise? what is your routine?
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, these are some wonderfully thoughtful questions! Have fun :-) And I love your "I have nothing to say, so ask me anything" topic, so my question is ...can I copy you, in the future when I'm stumped for topics? Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteForrest is a very cute boy!
ReplyDeleteI've just tumbled over your blog since I looked for pictures to survive growing out my pixie cut :-) And so I found you - and you're adorable.
Questions? Mhh, I think I'll have to read more of your blog first.
(Sorry, I'm no native speaker, I hope you understood me)
Greetings,
Emily
How did you and your husband meet? Love at first site? Or, the he sort of grew on me kind of love? Do you work outside the home? If not now, do you miss it? How much money do you make with blogging, etsy shops, crocheting, etc.? Okay...I will stop there! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am also a busy new momma, and today in particular I have a bad case of "Ihadsomuchtodobutfeellikei'vedonenothingitis". Do you have any tips for making essential things happen? (workout, make dinner...) despite teething, blowouts, babyfeedings and temper tantrums (yours and baby's) ha ha!! Being a mom is really the good life!
ReplyDeleteRachel, I think you are just an awesome person. Love your blog and I think you're so pretty. :)Okay, enough gushing. You have inspired me to delve into the crochet world. What's the best way to start? Where should I get supplies? What essentials should I have? What project should I start with?
ReplyDeleteThanks! :) Cameron
Hi Rachel! I would love a tutorial on something that may sound silly, but I couldn't find any other tutorials on: sewing storebought fabric to crocheted fabric. There are really great pictures of crocheted handbags with linings, and baby blankets with a flannel side and a crocheted side. I really want to know the best way to do that. I work with a lot of chunky yarns, and I just can't wrap my brain around sewing something to it. I've been crocheting just barely a year, and your blog was a big inspiration/help. Your tutorial on pattern reading made me (feel) able to try anything. Thanks for your awesome blog! OH! And keep the gratuitous photos of your super-cute kid coming!

ReplyDeleteHi Rachel! Do you do granny squares and if so do you have a favorite way to join them? I am completely addicted to making them but now have a pile of them and struggle with joining them!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Holly
I was wondering how you learned to crochet - did a family member show you how or did you learn on your own?
ReplyDeleteWho is your favorite Michelle in blogland??
ReplyDeleteI kid. I kid. (Not really.)
When are you getting a dog? Who ARE your celebrity crushes? When are you moving back to Iowa?
My question is what Camera do you use for your photos? Maybe you have mentioned already and I missed it but your photos turn out awesome :)
ReplyDeleteHum, I guess my question is what is your favorite part about blogging and (yes, this is a two part question-sneaky, I know) what do you feel is the best way to promote your blog to get more viewers?
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late to the party. I hope you'll still consider my questions.
ReplyDeleteWhat are your favorite movies (because it's always hard to pick just one)? What are your top three biggest pet peeves? If you could vacation anywhere, where would you go?
How about, "How the heck do you potty train a boy??" It's looming in my very near future and I'm learning that my boy is very different than my girl (so therefore potty training will be no different.) I'd love some tips! -Jen
ReplyDeleteHave you made anything that Forrest adores? I find my nieces enjoy my handcrafted goodies but the nephews don't seem as keen. Do you have any sewn or crocheted suggestions?
