Briiiiight + Jo Totes

bright coral top + distressed jeans + nude wedges + JoTotes bag

As a lifelong, very devoted fan of neutral colors with a mild to moderate fear of wearing anything too eye-catchingly bright, I’d like to go ahead and pat myself on the back for just going for it in a bright, bright, briiiiiight top today. Beige and gray and white, I’ll never forget you . . . but I think it’s time we branch out and see other people.

And as if it weren’t enough to try one new thing that I’ve been a little nervous about, I really ought to make myself a plaque for trying two. Distressed jeans. I kinda sorta DIYed this pair (if we can consider the very slightest of seam alterations and attacking them to tear them apart a DIY)—more details on that little project later. I’ve always been worried that I’d look too messy or sloppy to get away with the distressed look, but paired with some sleek wedges and a flowy blouse like this one, I’m really loving it. Look at me, growing up and trying new things! I’m so proud of me.

Let’s discuss the bag for a moment now, shall we? I’ve wanted a Jo Totes bag foreeeever. And ever. Aaaaand ever. I’ve probably entered a dozen giveaways and sprained my fingers from crossing them so hard. In case you aren’t familiar, Jo Totes makes gorgeous camera bags that are stylish and functional—they look fantastic (which is a far, far cry from your typical camera bag), and they are designed specifically to carry your camera and lenses safely and stylishly. There are so many pockets and compartments to keep your little camera doodads (or, not naming names here, but someone I know might have stuffed all those glorious pockets with lipgloss and snacks and baby wipes), and removable/repositionable velcro dividers mean you can section off areas to fit your accessories just right. If you’ve considered getting one, I’m telling you, you should absolutely go for it. I love mine. So well made, so convenient, and really just so, so pretty. Even if you don’t want/need a camera bag and just want a roomy purse with lots of options to keep things organized, you would not regret getting yourself this one.

  7. Love the new top. I love bright colors! Justin is the neutral person in our house. He also dislikes patterns. Ugh. I bought him a green checkered shirt (not even bright green, just normal green), and the first time he wore it to work, 3 people asked him on separate occasions why he looked so happy. Gives you an idea how drab of a wardrobe he's working with.
