Darcy's Big Girl Flower Garden Bedroom

We're only a few weeks away from a new occupant moving into the crib, so it was time to boot Darcy out and transfer her to a big girl room!

I originally intended for this bedroom makeover to be a Christmas surprise for Darcy (although I never got as far as figuring out how to keep an entire room in our house a secret from her), and it is just now completed in mid-March, so that's right on track for my typical scheduling!

I recruited some design talent to put this room together -- namely, Kathleen of Lindsay Hill Interiors (aka Darcy's grandma) and she did a marvelous job of creating the perfect space for Darcy. We wanted to give her a room that was sweet and girly, without being babyish or too 'cutesy.' The results are a lovely, feminine space that can grow with her, and won't feel like a baby room as she gets older.

Needless to say, Darcy LOVES her new room.

Step 1 was getting this girl a Beddy's of her very own. Every member of this family now sleeps in a Beddy's bedding set and they are THE BEST EVER. Perfect trifecta of being simple to use, comfy to sleep in, and absolutely adorable. We picked out the Vintage Blush Beddy's for Darcy's room.

If you aren't familiar with this awesome product, it is an all-in-one bedding set (meaning, literally ONE PIECE of bedding from fitted sheet through top quilt) that zips up the sides similar to a sleeping bag. It is a one step, one zip process to make the bed in the morning, and Darcy can do it by herself. Hallelujah for one less chore for me to complete every day! Another perk for young kids transitioning out of a crib is that zipping it up to her armpits at night prevents her from falling out of the bed as she gets used to sleeping in a bed without side rails. Just awesome, all around.

If you'd like to see how we all use our Beddy's, you can see them at home in Forrest's bedroom HERE, and our bedroom HERE (those pictures are actually from our old house -- maybe someday I'll get around to photographing our bedrooms in our current place!).

Kathleen recommended a feminine accent wall, and she found this beautiful floral wallpaper from Milton & King. I found the idea of wallpaper pretty intimidating, but it turns out, wallpaper is pretty simple to hang (as long as you've got two sets of hands at your disposal, and bonus points if your designer has worked with wallpaper before and doesn't mind helping out!). It took us an afternoon to put the wallpaper up, and I love that it brings in some fun color and pattern without being overwhelming or too 'trendy' -- I have high hopes that this is a style that will look great for years to come.

This dresser was a vintage find that we refinished in a cheery yellow color before Darcy was born (you can see it in her original baby nursery HERE), and it looks perfect in this colorful, happy room.

This girl LOVES her stuffed animals and plays with them frequently, so we included a big basket in her bedroom for her furry friends to live in. And this shaggy, plush, comfy rug from Rugs USA is so soft and cozy that I keep catching Darcy lying on it, trying to make snow angels.

Darcy is absolutely loving her new room, and so am I! If you have questions about any of the items in her room, let me know and I'll do my best to answer :-)

Product list:

Mother's Day Truths

This post is sponsored by the theatrical release of Mother’s Day, in theaters April 29. #MothersDayMovie

Motherhood is the greatest gift, the biggest challenge, just the MOST of every emotion you can possibly fathom. And no matter how well prepared you may feel as you wait for your little one’s
arrival, no matter how many books you’ve read or mom friends you’ve chatted with or viral Facebook articles you’ve shared on your wall, you simply cannot imagine the reality of daily motherhood until you experience it yourself. You will be endlessly surprised and frustrated by the things you’ll learn and experience.

mothers day

No one else’s kids will ever be half as cute as your kids. Or even a third as cute. Or a quarter as cute. Your kids’ cuteness will absolutely demolish the cuteness of every other child you will ever behold. And every mother will think this about every child she has, whether they are actually beautiful or entirely average looking or even kinda goofy.

Somehow, motherhood will simultaneously be the best and the very worst part of your life. You will understand deep in your soul that being a mother is the best, most meaningful, most beautiful thing you will ever experience in life. And I guarantee that less than five minutes after this realization hits your core, you will be at your wit’s end, fully prepared to set your children in a box on the side of the road with “free, no returns” scribbled on the side. And you will spend the next 18 years with these two extremes somehow co-existing in your heart. The good outweighs the bad—of course it does—but nothing else in your life will drive you to the brink of insanity with such merciless efficiency.

mothersday

You’ll never feel like you’re doing a good job. You might feel like you’re doing an okay job, if you’re lucky. My oldest is only five, so perhaps the confidence comes later (I can only hope!). But so far, I’ve spent five years second-guessing my every decision, weighing myself up against other mothers (and consistently coming up short), and ending most days with a miles-long mental list of parenting regrets.

But they’ll let it go and love you anyway. I’m always amazed by how quick my kids are to forgive me 100% when I’ve screwed up and shouted at them for the fiftieth time in the span of an hour. They may sulk for a few minutes or use your mom guilt to manipulate you into buying them a donut at the grocery store (and it will work, every time), but they will always be ready with a hug and a sticky kiss. You’ll remember the mistakes you made today far longer than your kids will.

You’ll freak out as they grow up. And they’ll grow up so fast, just like everyone warned you they would. I do not consider myself a “baby person.” I always say that if I could just give birth to a 3-year old, I’d happily skip the baby stage entirely. And even so, I cry when I look at the pictures I took 3 or 6 or 12 months ago, wondering how is it possible that they’ve gotten so big?!

But they’ll get better with age. This has been true so far. And I hope and pray with all my little heart that this continues for their whole lives. I am scared silly by the thought of my sweet babies growing into lumbering, sulky, emotional teenagers, but am comforted (slightly!) by the knowledge that each new stage my kids enter is my new favorite, and they just keep getting sweeter and cuter and more fun the older they get.

With Mother’s Day coming up, I can’t wait to see Mother’s Day in theaters April 29th. Three women. Three stories. This Mother’s Day, let go of your fears. Embrace the ones you love.

COME CELEBRATE THE MOTHER OF ALL HOLIDAYS. See #MothersDayMovie in theaters on April 29, starring Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, and Jason Sudeikis!  https://www.facebook.com/SeeMothersDay/

This is the day that connects us all, and I’m so excited to watch this movie with my own mom! It’s a big-hearted comedy with a star-studded ensemble cast, and I bet it’s going to be the perfect way to celebrate.

My Kitchen for the One Room Spring Tour

I'm excited to be a part of the One Room Spring Tour blog hop today with Lindsay Hill Interiors! Every day this week, 5 bloggers are sharing one room in their homes, and how they've decorated for spring.

one room spring tour

Today's featured room is kitchens -- if you're hopping over from Kelley Nan, welcome and thanks for stopping by!

On to my kitchen, which I think makes a great backdrop for spring decor in all its bright white glory.

Tulips are the ultimate spring flower to me -- they are just so peppy and inviting. I love this big planter box filled with yellow tulips. If only they'd last year round.

My kitchen hutch is fun to decorate for different holidays and seasons. For spring, I added a few pink plates to the white dishes and plants I always have on display. I love the splash of color.

Living Room Idea Board

We decided shortly before closing on our new house that our collection of mostly hand-me-down living room furniture was going to look a bit shabby in such a pretty new build.

I don't think our old furniture was bad by any means -- it was pretty neutral and in decent shape, but definitely starting to show its age, and not well suited for this new space. You can see our old living room setup in THIS post. (Bear in mind that everything always looks nicer in blog photos than in real life!)

With the new house being so open and light, we want to go for a new look. Here's our idea board that I very inexpertly pulled together just now. Thanks to my mom for always working for me for free :-)

white living room idea board
- I've wanted a white couch FOREVER but have never felt like it was a practical choice with our little monsters. But after reading roughly 4000 reviews of the Ikea Ektorp, I think I'm ready to go for it.

- For some reason, light colored chairs don't sound half as terrifying to me as a light colored couch (maybe because my kids always, 100% of the time, opt for sitting on a couch instead of chairs). I already purchased THESE chairs from Joss & Main (which were at least $50 cheaper a few weeks ago!) and Scotch Guarded the crap out of them.

- The coffee table and sideboard on the right we already own (not those exact ones, but similar). My sideboard is a dark walnut color, and I want to do something to it -- paint? strip? I can't decide. It looks great in the room, but the color just isn't right, and I don't know what to do with it. Suggestions welcome.

- The sideboard on the left is just a dream at this point. We have one very large, very long, very empty living room wall that would look great with a long, impressive sideboard. And of course, I chose a very expensive one to set my heart upon. I actually couldn't find a picture of the exact one I want, but the one shown is the same maker and style, just a smaller version of the one I want. I'll need to save up my pennies for it.

New House Tour

I've got a few pictures to share with you today of our new house! I wish with all my heart that I had taken more/better pictures before we moved in, because I really want to show it to you empty before I start sharing any of our decor ideas. I saved the photos from the MLS listing, but I'm worried some psycho will reverse image search them, find the address, and come murder me in my bed.

So instead of that highly appealing option, I proudly present: cell phone snaps taken over a month ago!

Please don't come murder us, mmkay?

We didn't have anything to do with the building process, but this house is a new build. Kind of fun to have something fresh and new without having to make any of the tough decisions or deal with any stressful waiting. It's a rambler style with all the main living on one level, plus a large unfinished walkout basement.

We'll start with my favorite room in the house: the kitchen.

house tour: white kitchen

White cabinetry is my love language. I love how bright and fresh this space looks, and I'm crazy about the tongue and groove ceiling.

Also: DOUBLE OVENS!!! I remember saying to Jeff when we looked at the house that they felt like a bit of a waste, and I thought I'd probably only need to use them on holidays. FALSE. I have used them quite a few times already in the (not even) two weeks we've been here, and they're amazing.

I don't think I really understand the framed accent tile over the stove top -- I can't say it's my favorite part of the house, but honestly, I'll probably never bother changing it. My plan is just to hang something in the middle of it and call it a day.

white kitchen

The doors on the right open onto a deck. The lot is sloped, so the front door is at ground level, but the back of the house here is the height of a second story. The deck overlooks a nice lake view, and I think we'll really enjoy it in the summer. The closer doorway on the left leads to a small mudroom area, the laundry room, a half bath, and the garage. The farther left door is the pantry.

Backing up a bit, this is the view from the entryway into the living room and kitchen area. Of course I bought the first house I could find that was constructed of more windows than walls. Love me some natural light. That stair rail you see at the left leads down into an unfinished basement -- we'll save up and tackle that project in a few years.

living room

And from the other direction, you can see the entry, the stairs going to the basement, and a lovely board and batten wall. And also my little helper, measuring the living room for me.

house tour

Directly off the entry is a smaller room that I am extremely excited about. It's too small to be a family room, and I'm not sure what the builders meant it to be used as (probably an office, or small sitting room for visitors?). Whatever their plans were, I've been waiting forever to make a little reading nook in a house, and I'm finally getting it here. Welcome to my library room.

house tour

Nice big windows on one side, and we'll be adding built in bookshelves along the opposite wall (on the right in the picture below). I'll add a couple big cozy chairs and reading lamps, a few little side tables. I'M SO EXCITED. I made sure Jeff realized that building a library room will only encourage me to buy books much more frequently. We have an understanding that many new books will need to be purchased. #happydance

house tour

I don't have any pictures of bedrooms or bathrooms (which are down a hallway on the opposite side of the entry from this room), so those will have to wait until they're all set up and ready to share. So this is a brief and partial tour, but it's a start, at least! Thanks for visiting our new house with us :-)

Good news!

I didn't mean for this to be a big secret, but it kind of turned into one anyway.

If you remember from the sale of our house last year, I concluded that I'm not superstitious but I am a little stitious, and house sale/purchase stuff is jinxed if shared online. So I decided to just keep quiet about it this time around until everything was 100% finished.

But now that it's over and done, I can finally say without superstitious fear: we bought a house!

Truly stellar picture quality! Blogger of the year award goes to ME!

We're so excited about it, and plan for this to be a long term home for our little family. We despise moving with all our hearts and souls, so barring some unforeseen major change, we'll be here for many many many years to come, and I am really excited about that.

I'll share more pictures as things get settled!

New King Bed + Beddy's Bedding

When we got our new mattress a few weeks ago, we upgraded from a queen to a king size. I knew it would mean needing to purchase a new bed frame and headboard and all, but this was a sacrifice I was willing to make. And by 'sacrifice,' I mean I was super excited at the prospect of shopping for some new stuff. Such a sacrifice!

I loved the style of our old bed (which you can see HERE if you'd like). It had that cottage-y farmhouse look that I love. I actually considered buying the exact same style in a king, but Jeff convinced me to branch out and try something new. I was genuinely sad, though, that a king bed would mean that I could no longer use the queen size bedspread that I crocheted. I'm saving it in case we ever end up with a guest bedroom.

But no regrets at all in switching to a new mattress size. Sleeping on a king bed has been glorious. Absolutely GLORIOUS. And I'm loving the new look in our room.

tufted upholstered king headboard white bedding blue pillows

I still have a few things to check off the list--namely finding something to go over the bed, and hanging up the mirror that is currently just propped on the dresser--but we've all been so sick for the past few weeks that I'm considering even this much work a major accomplishment.

cream tufted upholstered headboard

I'll put a source list for everything down at the bottom of this post in case you also want to do a little shopping. I was really excited to find this beautiful tufted headboard for such a good price (just over $200). When I ordered it, there were no reviews online and nowhere to see it in person before buying, so I was a bit nervous. But it is wonderful in person and I've been really happy with it.

I also painted our nightstands (which I've never been crazy about and still hope to replace before too long), and they definitely fit the room better now. Doesn't everything look better painted white?

white painted nightstands

By far--and I mean BYYYY FAAAAAR--the best, most comfortable, most convenient, and overall happiest part of this little makeover is the bedding. The wonderful, wonderful bedding.

You may remember that I worked with Beddy's a few months ago to set Forrest up with a big boy bed and bedding--you can see that post HERE. And I raved and raved about how awesome his zipper bedding was, and I was jealous that it was so quick and simple for him to make his bed while I wasted my time adjusting covers and straightening bedspreads and smoothing multiple layers.

(By the way, 6 months later, he still totally rocks at making his bed all by himself, and I can't overemphasize how nice it is to have that one little chore off my to-do list each day!)

My jealousy of his bedding just grew and grew, until finally I begged Beddy's to help me out with bedding for my new bed. And guys, it might have been the best decision of my life so far.

chic white beddy's king size ruffle zipper bedding

I want to let you in on a little secret here. If you see a blogger work with a company once, cool. It's probably a company that blogger likes and is happy to promote. But if you see a blogger work with a company multiple times, it means they are crazy head over heels and can't shut up about how awesome that company/product is, and if you happen to know the blogger in real life, you will definitely be hearing about it in every conversation you have. This is definitely the latter situation.

This bedding is miraculous. See for yourself. Not only is it crazy cute with the ruffles and smooth panels (and I love how the ruffles mean it never needs adjusting throughout the day, unlike a certain crochet bedspread that needed constant tweaking if anyone even touched it, let alone sit down on the bed), but it is unbelievably comfortable to boot. The bottom sheet is an incredibly smooth and comfortable cotton, and the top layer is lined with minky fabric. I basically just want to sleep naked all the time for maximum minky-to-skin contact. I've resisted, you know, but the struggle is real.

minky lined zipper bedding

A panel pulls out on each side so you're never chilly or exposed in the night. And in the morning, you just tuck the panels inside and zip the whole thing up. That's it. All the bedding is connected, from the bottom sheet to the top minky quilt, so it always looks perfectly tight and tucked, and you just zip up the sides to make your bed in the morning. And a cute pleated ruffle hides the zipper, too. THEY'VE THOUGHT OF EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING!

zipper bedding from beddys

They also sent a matching ruffle bed skirt, which is super cool because the ruffle fabric continues up a few extra inches onto the inner material. This means that even if something shifts--if the mattress moves a bit, or if the bed skirt should happen to get tugged down a little--only that pretty ruffle fabric is ever visible. I've always been so bugged when a bed skirt's unattractive inner material shows, so I think this is basically genius.

I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that I have never in our 9 years of marriage seen Jeff make a bed. Ever. I have always made our bed, and when he has occasionally helped it has been more trouble than it's worth because he has zero attention to cosmetic details like smooth sheets or tucked sides, and it would drive me nuts.

But he has made this bed multiple times (because pulling a zipper is fun, right?), and it always looks perfect. Is this real life?

white blue master king bed

Make sure to check out Beddy's for their amazing zipper bedding that, it turns out, is absolute perfection for little kids and big kids. I love them so much I could cry.

Sweet Dreaming with The Dream Bed

Tracking PixelWhen Jeff and I got married as poor college students, we (unsurprisingly!) had no money to spend on furnishings or home stuff. We found a couch and love seat on the side of the road on trash day, picked up a ratty little dresser from a thrift store, and found a classifieds ad for a used mattress priced at $50 (looking back, it wasn't even worth that). It was a wretched little apartment, but we were young and happy. A year later, my parents (taking pity on us, I'm sure) offered us their 15-year old mattress so they could buy a new one. We eagerly accepted and have slept on that old thing ever since. It's been nearly 9 years, and that mattress is nearly as old as we are. So you can imagine our excitement when we were approached to talk to you about The Dream Bed™ today.

We've known we ought to get a new mattress for years and years. Between two little kids who love waking up early and keeping me busy all day long, and running our own business, sleep is a huge priority. (And imagine the embarrassment when Jeff--a chiropractor for pete's sake!--is asked by patients suffering from back pain what mattress he sleeps on and would recommend, and he has to admit he is sleeping on his in-laws' 30-year old hand-me-down mattress.) But we've put it off for years, to the detriment of our comfort and our sleep. This is the perfect opportunity to sleep happy and feel great that we are contributing to something special.

The Dream Bed -- buy a bed, give a bed to someone in need

Now, before I get into the specifics of this mattress and what we think of it, I want to tell you a bit about the behind-the-scenes of The Dream Bed. Because it is giving me all sorts of warm fuzzies.

There is a lot of heart behind this company. Every Dream Bed purchase is good for you, of course, because you'll be enjoying comfortable, wonderful sleep. But that isn't all--with every purchase, a bed is also given to a child or family in need.

In my cushy, privileged life, it is hard to even imagine a child not having a bed to sleep in. This is the reality I was blessed to be raised in: of course you have a bed to climb into at night, even if it's a 25-year old hand-me-down mattress. It breaks my heart, as a mother of young children, to imagine little ones not having a bed. But this is the real world, and not everyone is so lucky. I love that Dream Bed is taking steps to make the world a better place and provide a good night's sleep to those who badly need it. In its 2 months in action, Dream Bed has already given over 100 beds to those in need. I love that!

the dream bed

And at this point you're thinking, okay, that's a lovely premise, but I still want to make sure I'm sleeping on a comfortable mattress. Right?

Worry not. I am being 110% absolutely serious when I tell you that I have never slept on a more comfortable mattress in my life. And we're coming off a 30-ish year old mattress before experiencing this one so the difference is basically like being reborn. Even the kids are spending an absurd amount of time on my bed. They're asking to watch movies and read books there instead of heading downstairs to the couch. Fine by me, as long as they don't expect to be sleeping in there with us. (Co-sleepers, you do you. I just cannot. Nope.)

And you're going to have to bear with me for these next 2 photos. I couldn't try to set it up alone and take pictures as I went, so I waited until Jeff was home to help . . . but I kid you not, he is never home when there is daylight. I suspect he is a vampire. So there was no natural light helping out with these pictures here, which were taken at 10 PM. Yikes.
the dream bed
The bed arrived in this box. For scale, I stood next to it for a picture . . . so you can imagine that I was a little skeptical that there was somehow an entire mattress hidden inside. What is this, Mary Poppins' magical bottomless handbag? We pulled the contents of the box out to reveal the photo on the right there. I seriously suspect there was some wizardry involved in making that fit. Neat though, right? That somehow this entire amazing mattress fits inside this one little box that shows up at your doorstep?

But after removing the plastic, the mattress immediately starts taking shape, and within an hour it was fluffy and full and luxurious.

the dream bed

It has a memory foam and latex interior, so it is incredibly comfortable and squishy and delightful. I want to sleep on it forever and ever and never get up. The Dream Bed is available in Original or Cool--we chose the Cool Dream Bed, which has a gel-infused memory foam that wicks moisture and dissipates body heat, because a certain someone who shares my bed has the internal temperature of the average volcano. It has been fantastically comfy.

the dream bed

Awesome bed and a great cause. I'm sleeping happy. If you're noticing that our bedroom looks extremely bare in these pictures, that's because I used the new mattress as a jumping-off point to change things up a tad, so expect a post next week with a bedroom makeover!

Make sure to join us for a Dream Bed twitter party on Mon. November 9th to learn more about The Dream Bed!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Dream Bed™.

Chic Black and White Halloween Mantel + Traditional Fall Hutch Decor

I think I've proven in the past that I'm not always the most enthusiastic decorator for holidays. But it's a lot more fun when your kids act excited about decorating, which was a big motivator for my Halloween decor this year.

Chic Black and White Halloween Mantel Decorations

Since I already had quite a bit of black and white happening on my mantel between the clock and vases (not to mention the fireplace box itself and the white mantel), I decided to go with a monochromatic black and white scheme. I wanted to keep it looking chic and sophisticated, but still fun for the kids, and this is what I came up with.

I started by gathering up books from my collection that have black spines/covers, and stacking them up. I always like using my books as decor, since I already have lots of them and it's fun for me to put them on display.

These two lanterns usually have blue and green candles inside. I didn't want to buy black and white candles just for this display, especially since I knew I wouldn't be burning them. So I just took a sheet each of black and white paper, wrapped them around the candles I already owned, and taped them into place. Easy, free fix to keep my black and white look going.

black and white halloween lanterns

I made the 'spook' banner and the bats using my Silhouette Portrait. Super easy and quick to pump out, and I love the swarm of bats escaping from the fireplace. I think I'll leave them up all year, and just accessorize them for every other holiday. They can each wear a Santa hat for Christmas, bunny ears for Easter, etc. It'll totally work, right?

black and white halloween mantel decor

We have a cute hutch in our kitchen that I used to display our more traditional fall decor.

Traditional Fall Decor on Kitchen Hutch

The little 'apple cider' sign was another quick Silhouette project from last year, made from a piece of scrap wood I found in the garage. I used those removable photo hanging strips to attach it to the back of the hutch. Hopefully it'll come down okay!

Traditional Fall Decor on Kitchen Hutch

And I was happy to rediscover this little painting in a box in my garage. I bought it at a thrift store years and years ago, but never found a good spot for it in our last house. I think it looks perfect tucked into this display.

Bring on the pumpkins, corn pits, and boots

Now that we've made our annual pumpkin patch visit, we can say that fall has been officially kicked off (even though we are just starting to see some color change in the leaves and the weather is barely beginning to cool down).

We visited Jaker's in Springville and had a great time. I'll admit, we were a bit worried when we pulled into the parking lot--it was absolutely packed and there was even a bit of a line waiting to get in. But we were happy to find that there were enough attractions to keep the crowd spread out fairly evenly, so it didn't feel as crazy as it looked.

pumpkin patch visit

Forrest was really excited about the 'pumpkin rocket!' until we realized it was a pumpkin drop that charged per drop. It sure looked cool, though!

But the petting zoo was a huge hit. You guys, that piglet. THAT PIGLET!!! Forget taking a pumpkin home at the end of the night. I wanted that little guy to come home with me. He was so adorable. His little twirly tail was in constant motion, spinning nonstop as long as we watched him. Cutest thing ever.
 pumpkin patch visit

By far, the kids' favorite part of the night was playing in a humongous corn pit. And we smuggled a good deal of it home with us by accident--we kept pulling kernels out of pockets, socks, underpants, and diapers. I found a handful of them in my purse later--not sure if they dropped in on their own, or if a little someone thought a handful of corn would make a great souvenir?

There is literally not a single thing about fall that I don't love, except I guess the knowledge that winter comes after. We have the scientific know-how to send people into space--I vote that we apply that knowledge and energy to creating a perpetual fall.

One of my favorite things about fall is switching from summer clothes to some warmer fall style. I know there are states out there that bring the heat in a far more serious way than Utah does, but still . . . I could do without 100+ degree days, and it is glorious--glorious!--when I can put a jacket and boots on.

pumpkin patch visit

And this year, I wanted to try out the ankle boots that have been so trendy lately. I got these ankle boots from Famous Footwear and have been loving them. I'm so accustomed to wearing knee-high boots that this height took a little getting used to. They are such a fun change from boots I've worn in the past, though, and I feel like they really go with just about everything, which is nice.

pumpkin patch visit

If you're like me and can always use a little help and inspiration when it comes to style, make sure to check out the #ohsofamous style gallery. It's a great way to find new style ideas for the season and see how others are styling their Famous Footwear shoes. I've been scrolling through and I have to say, it is really helpful to see other ladies wearing these exact boots, and the outfits they've put together around them. I'm making mental notes of what I like best, so I can try some new things with my boots.

(And little fashionista Darcy is sporting these sweet little boots.)

Even Jeff got in on the action with the first pair of boots he has ever owned in his life (can you believe that?! my dad and brothers always wore boots so it kind of blew my mind that Jeff has never worn them before). And he promptly filled them up with corn kernels from the big corn pit. A hazard of pumpkin patching. You can see the pair he chose HERE.
