ReplyDeleteRuth
Thanks again so much for having me!!! You ROCK!!!! Can't wait to get started on the cowl!!!! Yippee!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun series! I wish I could do it right now, but I am SO going to re-read this when my life calms down a bit. :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the yarn tips... thanks! Question: I never see yarn in balls... I only see skeins. Are they the same, amount-wise? I want to make sure I don't run out of yarn for our cowl project!
ReplyDeleteI very much want to make my cowl in a soft, fuzzy yarn. I am an experienced crocheter so I think I can handle the double strand method. I've chosen the color. So off to JoAnn's tomorrow to pick out my yarn!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I featured our crochet along today on my blog. Hop over to http://www.sylvanavintagedesigns.wordpress.com for a look. This is gonna be fun!
ReplyDelete3 balls of yarn and an n hook, got it!
ReplyDeleteThis is great advice, heaps of stuff I did not know, and I'm going yarn shopping this morning so hurrah!
ReplyDeleteI just found you blog through Sarah's and it's lovely!
Bahaha! Thanks for including my "crotch-it stick" comment.
ReplyDelete"crotch-it stick" = perfect! haha My BoyF calles it croch-it or crochette.haha
ReplyDeleteP.S Thanks for this post. Being in Australia - we don't sell the same brands so I was having such a hard time trying to find a super bulky yarn. But I feel much more confident now =]
ReplyDeleteGot my yarn and hook today. I once learned to do the chain, but promptly forgot. I can't wait to get started. I am however, just a little afraid since I'm a lefty. I think I did it righty before though. A lesson in patience. ;) Thanks so much for hosting this.
ReplyDeleteSo excited! :)
ReplyDeletequestion = will the n hook work for practicing the stitches with the worsted weight yarn? or should i be getting another size hook for that? thanks.
ReplyDeleteoo please help.. in Australia crochet hooks seem to come in number sizes rather than letters.. any idea what number N would be close to?
ReplyDeleteOh I'm excited! I seriously already learned a lot just from that post - I had no idea there were so many kinds of yarn. This will obviously be an eye-opening experience for me haha.
ReplyDeleteI have the same question as Lynn - do we need a different size hook for our practice yarn?
Oh just kidding! I read back through the directions and saw my answer :)
ReplyDeleteTo the Little Bird (and any other international participants!): N hooks are also called a size 13, or 9.00mm hook. I hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteawesome!! thanks :D hoping to get my supplies tomorrow.. I know I'm a little behind, but with school holidays fast approaching, I'll be able to catch up quick (I hope!)
ReplyDeleteI've got my 9mm (UK) hook and chunky wool and I'm ready to go!
ReplyDeleteI'm sooo excited, I'm sooo excited...I'm so....SCARED!! LoL I will be shopping as soon as the Chief's check hits our account!
ReplyDeleteRachel, I don't even know if you'll see this comment all the way down here BUT I found your blog on someone from our stakes {I grew up in the Albany stake but we were a few age groups away so I don't know if we've ever met} anyways, I'm rambling BUT I found your cute cute blog and I am SOO excited about this project! Seriously I've been in such a craft rut but this looks amazing and hopefully something I can follow so thank you for doing it, I'm really excited!
