(Before I jump in here, hop over to Two Girls Being Crafty to see my contribution to their 12 Days of Christmas series!)
There are so many big things in my life that I am thankful for.
There are so many big things in my life that I am thankful for.
Like parents who taught me everything I believe, and who continue to be a source of wisdom, love, friendship, kindness, and treasured advice.
A ridiculous, loving family that knows how to have a good time and spoil family picture day.
A sweet, understanding, supportive husband who has helped me through difficult moments, made me laugh, held my hand, built my confidence, and encouraged me every step of our marriage.
A beautiful, healthy, hilarious, marshmallow-y sweet little boy who somehow knows just when to give a hug and a slobbery kiss (and for the precious, frustrating, wonderful, challenging gift of motherhood that came along with him).
Lifelong friends who make me feel loved and appreciated, supported and understood.
And I'm grateful for so, so many little things.
Like a talent that offers me such a satisfying feeling of creative fulfillment.
A child who loves to take naps.
Tender moments between father and son.
Finally living close enough to be able to spend time with my siblings, who love their little nephew.
Daily reminders to enjoy life's simple pleasures (like the 30 minutes of fun that came with emptying and refilling this box of feminine items . . . forget toys, this kid's getting a box of tampons for Christmas).
What do you feel thankful for today?
All of my kids loved tampons too!!
ReplyDeleteHaha love the picture of Forrest emptying the tampon box. Connor does the same thing!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful list. It's the little things that make life so much fun.
ReplyDeletePs--that last picture is so awesome, such a cute little guy!
Such wonderful things to be thankful for! Hope you and your family have a fantastic Thanksgiving :)
ReplyDeleteAw so many wonderful things to be thankful for!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

ReplyDeleteBahaha! Oh, Forrest... I loved this post!
ReplyDelete(He'll LOVE that pic when he's 15.)
It's awesome that you posted this today, the last picture made my husband and I laugh. Our son was playing with all the clothing hangers while we did laundry tonight! He's getting a ten pack of hangers for Christmas. ;)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful post... thanks for sharing. I'm thankful for my family and I'm looking forward to being off work after tomorrow so I can spend more time with them.
ReplyDeleteMore blessing to you! ...
ReplyDeleteI adore you blog... your sense of humor and your talents!
Happy Holidays! Nicky
The tampon pic made me giggle. The pic of your and your handsome man is beautiful, and the one of your munchkin is adorable. I am also a mom that is VERY THANKFUL for a wonderful son (now 15yo), and a strong, loving marriage (been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 22yr). This year has been one of our worst with extended family divorces, lay-offs, ill relatives, and financial concerns. Through it all, we've become a stronger family and learned to appreciate what we have (not what we want) much more. When times are tough, that is when your faith grows and you realize what is truly important. For me, it is FAMILY. May you and all that read your blog have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving. :)
ReplyDeleteShan--thank you so much for that beautiful comment (and congratulations to you on a happy, secure marriage and family)! Family truly is the most important thing, and for me, it takes daily effort and prayer to remember that. It's so easy to put other things first and neglect the people you love the most . . . I've noticed that it doesn't take much (in terms of time and energy and priorities placed elsewhere) to notice a weaker, less solid marriage and family. What better foundation than that and your faith to build your life around?
ReplyDeleteI love all your family pics. And my kids love tampons, too. They have a knack for coming in the bathroom JUST at the wrong tampon-related moment. "Mommy, what are you doing?" (tmi maybe.) sigh. I'm thankful for them, really.
ReplyDeleteAww, great post. That child of yours is ridiculously adorable...but you knew that.
ReplyDeleteRach, I am so grateful for you. I am in awe of you and your seemingless endless talents. You're gorgeous, you're a wonderful wife and mommy, you're a great friend, you are hilarious. I could go on and on but I just wanted to let you know that I'm thankful for you.
